Hey, Republicans, There’s No Need for “Civil War.” Just Nominate Trump Again. We All Know You Want To.

Well, it happened.

Some, myself included, thought it was just bluster.

But Donald Trump, the twice-impeached 45th president of the United States, has once again declared his candidacy for the GOP nomination.

In many — likely most — Trump’s announcement produced agita, anxiety, dread. Maybe even PTSD.

Before I say something unpopular here, though, let me clarify I am no secret Trump supporter.

I’m not a troll. (Says every troll, right?)

I am progressive FDR Democrat terrified about the potential for fascism toward which the republican party appears hell-bent on taking us.

I fear for democracy should we elevate an authoritarian-leaning republican to the nation’s highest office in 2024.

That’s why I hope the post-2022 mid-term republican party finds it’s in its best interest to nominate Donald Trump again.

Consider, if he’s the nominee, the republican party (you know, the “law and order” bunch so concerned with crime and inflation) would be forced to defend its twice-impeached former standard bearer who twice lost the popular vote, lost control of Congress, tanked the…
