Sen. Rick Scott’s ‘11-Point Plan to Rescue America’ is a Fascist’s Blueprint for An Aspiring Presidential Wanna-Be
Fla. Senator Rick Scott is running for president.
Not officially, of course.
Yet.
But based on his so-called “ 11-point plan to rescue America,” he is laying out policy positions to attempt to wrest the republican base away from “ the former guy.”
While Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell stated he refuses to offer an alternative agenda, when asked what that agenda would entail should republicans re-claim Senate control in January, he answered:
“That is a very good question and I’ll let you know when we take it back.”
Sen. Scott admitted the 11-point plan’s unpopularity, saying, “Like the [1994] ‘Contract with America’ before it, the Washington insiders will hate this plan.”
But will they really?
Based on the odious legislation coming out of republican-led states and the loyalty GOP members display toward even their most offensive members, the republican party likely will have no problem with Scott’s policy proposals ranging from education to “American first” that include:
- Requiring public school students to say the Pledge of Allegiance and stand for the National Anthem.
- Shuttering the Department of Education.
- Prohibiting the federal government from asking anyone’s race on federal forms.
- Eliminating diversity training in the military (or, as Scott calls it, “woke ideological indoctrination that divides our troops.”)
- Rendering “ineligible for federal funding” any college or university considering affirmative action in admissions processes. They would also lose their tax-exempt status.
- Instituting “strict” mandatory minimum sentences in cases where police officers are injured.
- Opposing any “attempt to deny our 2nd Amendment freedoms.”
- Completing the partially erected wall at our Southern border, and naming it after Donald Trump.
- Withholding unemployment or welfare benefits from immigrants until they have lived in the country at least seven years.
- Stripping so-called “sanctuary cities” of federal funding.
- Balancing the federal budget lest lawmakers forego their paychecks.
- Compelling all Americans-even those who don’t make the minimum taxable income-to pay income taxes in order to “ have skin in the game.”
- Prohibiting federal debt ceiling increases unless they were necessary in times of war.
- Limiting all federally elected officials and career federal employees to 12-year terms.
- Letting all federal legislation-including Social Security and Medicare-”sunset” after five years.
- Cutting IRS funding in half.
- Banning legislators from working as lobbyists after leaving office (actually not a bad idea).
- Instituting nationwide voter I.D., which Scott supports with the fallacy, “All arguments against voter ID are in favor of fraud.”
- Banning same-day voter registration.
- Prohibiting federal programs and tax laws from “discriminating against marriage” or “rewarding” the unmarried.
- Preventing government forms from offering choices related to “gender identity” or “sexual preference.”
- Barring male athletes from participating in “women’s sports.”
- Subjecting social media platforms to the same legal actions as publishers if they are suspected of censoring speech or “canceling.”
- Preventing tax dollars from being spent on “diversity training or other woke indoctrination that is hostile to faith.”
- Withholding dues from the United Nations or “any international organization that undermines the national interests of the USA.” (Something Vladimir Putin would just love.)
- Taking climate change seriously “but not hysterically.” Scott actually said, “We will not adopt nutty policies that harm our economy or our jobs.”
As CNN recently reported, Scott’s plan is “a blueprint for Trumpism without Trump.”
The non-partisan Institution on Taxation and Economic Policy (ITEP) explained Scott’s plan “would increase taxes by more than $1,000 on average for the poorest 40% of Americans,” adding:
“Where more than 40% of residents would face tax increases, are…Mississippi, West Virginia, Arkansas, Louisiana, Alabama, Kentucky, Oklahoma, Georgia, New Mexico, South Carolina and…Florida”.
What most many not know is that Sen. Scott used to be CEO of Columbia/HCA, a company that pleaded guilty to the most historic attempt to defraud Medicare in history.
As governor, Scott blocked $70 million in federal funds allocated to combat Florida’s HIV crisis.
But if Rick Scott wants to try to pick up Trump’s mantle for the 2024 republican nomination, he is going to have to compete against Fla. Gov. Ron DeSantis, who is quickly distinguishing himself as the “smart Trump,” the competent wanna-be fascist.
